Application: PING- Partimage Is Not Ghost

What it is:

PING is a live Linux ISO, based on the excellent Linux From Scratch
(LFS) documentation. It can be burnt on a CD and booted, or integrated
into a PXE / RIS environment.

Several tools have been added and written, so to make this ISO the
perfect choice to backup and restore whole partitions, an easy way. It
sounds like Symantec Ghost(tm), but has even better features, and is
totally free.

* Probably the best available Linux toolbox for rescuing a system;
* Backup and Restore partitions or files locally or to the network
(MS Network Shared directory, NFS, FTP or SSHFS);
* Backup and Restore the BIOS data as well;

OAOD (Super OS)

What it is:

Super OS (formerly: Super Ubuntu) is just a modified version of Ubuntu
10.10 with the goal of making it more usable.

OAOD (Hugin)

Application: Hugin

What it is:

Hugin is a panorama photo stitching program. Essentially, Hugin is a
GUI frontend for Panorama Tools. Stitching is accomplished by using
several overlapping photos taken from the same location, and using
control points to align and transform the photos so that they can be
blended together to form a larger image. Hugin allows for the easy
creation of control points between two images, optimization of the
image transforms, and much more.

OAOD (Frets On Fire)

Application: Frets On Fire

What it is:

A game of musical skill and fast fingers. The aim of the game is to play
guitar with the keyboard as accurately as possible.

Players must press buttons to keep in time with the rhythm of the music,
shown by markers on screen. An official online high score list allows
players to show off their skills to competitors around the globe.

The game comes with an easy to understand tutorial to get players
started, and a song editor lets players edit and compose songs
for use in the game.

Application: Cenon

What it is:

Cenon is a graphical tool of a special kind. Build upon a modular graphical
core, Cenon offers a wide variety of possibilities and applications – not
only Desktop Publishing. The best of all, Cenon is free software, available
with full source codes, and at home on many computer platforms.

Convert, import and export DXF, PostScript, Adobe Illustrator, DIN formats,

Application: Multiget

What it is:

MultiGet is an easy-to-use GUI file downloader.
It’s programmed in C++ and has a GUI based on wxWidgets. It supports HTTP/FTP
protocols which covers the requirements of most users. It supports multi-task
with multi-thread on multi-server. It supports resuming downloads if the Web
server supports it, and if you like, you can reconfig the thread number
without stopping the current task. It’s also support SOCKS 4,4a,5 proxy, ftp
proxy, http proxy.

More Feature:

It also support a feature called P2SP, or in other words, get file from
multiple servers, and combine the data from different site into one file. This
makes downloads complete much faster.

MultiGet also supports switching language dynamically, you can choose Chinese
or English interface.  Generally it will automatic choose a proper language
for you.

What it is:

Google Gadgets for Linux provides a platform for running desktop

Application: Dia

What it is:

Dia is an editor for diagrams, graphs, charts etc. There is support for UML
static structure diagrams (class diagrams), Entity-Relationship diagrams,
network diagrams and much more. Diagrams can be exported to postscript and
many other formats.
